2024 Annual Golf Tournament Raises Funds, Awareness for Becky’s Place

Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative hosted its annual Charity Golf Tournament at Golden Hills Golf & Country Club on October 21, raising proceeds for Becky’s Place at Lexington Medical Center. The funds will provide wigs and prostheses to cancer patients experiencing the side effects of chemotherapy.

This year’s event was made possible thanks to the support of over 30 sponsors and employee volunteers. Over the past 23 years, the tournament has raised more than $210,000 to benefit Becky’s Place and make a meaningful impact on cancer patients in the local community.

The tournament featured strong competition, with the following teams finishing at the top:

• 1st Place: Xylem/Right of Way
• 2nd Place: Cromer Trucking
• 3rd Place: Chapin Hemp Company

“Every year, this tournament showcases the heart of our community,” said Bob Paulling, CEO of Mid-Carolina Electric. “The generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants allows us to support important programs like Becky’s Place. We’re grateful to everyone who helps make this event such a success year after year.”

Mid-Carolina Electric looks forward to hosting next year’s tournament and continuing its tradition of giving back to the community.
