Annual Sporting Clays Fundraiser
On Saturday, March 24th, Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative’s Wellness Team will sponsor our 3rd Annual Sporting Clays Shooting Tournament to raise money for two charities close to the hearts of all of our cooperative employees. The first is the ALS Association (supporting, assisting and caring for victims of Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in memory of our dear friend and co-worker, Russ Dantzler, who succumbed to the disease in February 2015 only a year after retirement from VP of Engineering/Operations with MCEC. The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization enhancing the quality of life of victims while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure for this debilitating disease.
The second charity was selected in honor and memory of all cooperative employees and any electrical workers who have utilized and benefited from the services of the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, GA. Several utility employees across the state have suffered burns and received lifesaving treatment at our nation’s largest burn treatment facility.
This exciting and fun-filled event will again be held at the Palmetto Shooting Complex on 535 Gary Hill Road in Edgefield, SC with registration between 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. All teams must be on the course no later than 10:30. We will begin serving lunch at 11:00 and will have the awards determined and announced after all teams have returned from the course.
